Dumbbell skull crusher

Muscles worked

How to do it

1. Lie on a flat bench with a dumbbell in each hand, arms straight over the shoulders, palms facing in.
2. Keep the upper arms still and bend the elbows to lower the dumbbells beside the head.
3. Stop when the dumbbells are beside the ears, elbows bent a little past 90°.
4. Straighten the arms back up.

Common mistakes

• The upper arms drifting back and forth — keep them pointing at the ceiling.
• Elbows flaring out — keep them in line with the shoulders.
• Lowering fast toward the head — control every rep.
